HARDWARE HACKATHON

Aavishkar is a platform for young makers, students and hackers to showcase their talent in the field of robotics. It is the yearly event of Kathmandu University Robotics Club (KURC) with different themes and competitions. It is all about motivating the enthusiastic youngster of Nepal for the upliftment of their interest and skills in the field of robotics.

Introduction

Participants are supposed to perform aavishkar i.e. create a solution to the given problems. A team should select a theme and find solution based on the problem on that theme. During the presentation, the team should have a working model of the solution.

General Idea

Day 1:

A team of participants(maximum 4) should design at least a prototype or model of a project based on a given theme. The participants can build the project before the competition and finalise on the competition day. The hardware required for the prototype should be managed by the competitor themselves.

Day 2:
A power point presentation should be prepared regarding your project with its reasonable applications. You will get 10 minutes time for the presentation and 5 minutes for the questionnaires from the juries’ members regarding the prototype made. Then after that the demonstration of your prototype will be carried out. At the end of the day we will have judging period to choose the winner of Aavishkar Hardware Hackathon 2017.

General Rules

1. participants are not allowed to bring ready made projects from the market.
2. Use of sensors, microcontrollers, power supply, soldering iron and other electrical components are allowed.
3. The project should compulsarily consist of hardware and can consist of software.
